I would like to win this package because as a busy working mother I could use the guidance in bettering myself and for the chance of a day of pampering in a truly wholesome way!
I have family in NY living on Long Island and I am planning on visiting for my Grandmother’s 95 birthday party but the date is in Nov 2010. I would love to win a signned copy of your new book as a pampered gift and I sure could use a little pampering.
Oh, good heavens, I need this. I’m addicted to dairy and chocolate, and I’m sure that doesn’t help my battles with anxiety and depression, as well as my flab. I love NYC, and plan to live there at some point (hopefully sooner than later). This would be the perfect introduction!
Finally, to quote Dory, “OOOH, PICK ME! PICK ME!”
Hi Alex,
I’ll be in NYC this fall promoting my new book and would love to win your drawing. What a great idea. Please sign me up for a chance!
Best to you.
Kind regards,
Karen
I would be totally psyched to win this package for the following reasons:
1.) To learn from the best! Alex is so incredibly knowledgeable, plus I love her style!
2.) Every coach needs a coach! I am a holistic health counselor and am realizing more and more how much I need support with my own holistic wellness so I can in turn help others. I know Alex could provide me with incredible insight into my own wellness pitfalls.
3.) Fun in the City! Yoga, spa, and great food with a totally cool chick? Count me in!
Funny this came today. I just found one of my food diary’s in my desk drawer from 2003. I realized I have been “on a diet” for over 10 YEARS!! And I am still fat and unhealhty. My way is obviously not working. Very depressing to think I have wasted so much time. Need help.
I have made a vow to make this a summer of self-renewal – mentally and physically. This would be a great way to kick-start my path to living a better, healthy life!
This could not sound like a more perfect day!
Thank you for the chance to win.
I just signed up for your newsletters and have found them very informational so far. I have hit that wonderful stage of perimenopause and have been absorbing tons of information…especially about nutrition and weight.
Ahhhh, I could use a day like this!
Sounds awesome! An excuse to go to NY!
I am already vegan, but have been trying to get pregnant and having a hard time. I know that some pampering, relaxing and One-on-one coaching and mentoring with Alexandra might just do the trick!
Would love a pampered day and be able to meet you!
I’m seven months pregnant, and now more than ever I could use the mentoring. I want to make sure that I’m setting a great example for my child. Plus, the yoga and spa treatment would be much appreciated, and hopefully help soothe my aching back!
Thanks!
Never been to NYC. Would like to meet you and begin to change my diet and lifestyle. Oh WOW how fabulous to be in NY for a couple of days during this summer.
Phil
I have never been to New York before, in fact I haven’t been anywhere in a couple of years due to the bad economy, however, I still feel that money well spent on organic veggies and fruits as well as whole grains is always worth it. I would be so honored to win such a wonderful prize, definitely worth flying from Colorado for!
How thrilling!! As a new mom of a baby girl I’d love to get the opportunity to learn more about nutrition and self-care. Although I’m active I don’t have as much time as I used to for yoga classes but I miss the balance regular workouts gave me. I’m planning a trip to NYC sometime this summer to meet my new baby nephew and visit my sister & brother-in-law. It would be amazing to meet Alex and learn more about healthier living!!
I would like to win because I just graduated law school while working as a full-time teacher and participating in marathons and triathlons and I’m in need of some serious rest and relaxation. I’m now studying for the California State Bar Examination, the hardest bar examination in the country. I’ve gained 20 pounds since starting law school and I miss being as active as I used to be. I’m vegan and try to eat as healthy as I can but the stress of work and study drives me to make some rather pathetic choices – and those french fries keep calling my name!!
This would be amazing! I could really benefit big time from this experience before going back to another stressful year of school.
As a New Yorker who tries to eat healthy, exercise regularly & spend time with my toes in the grass from time to time, this city can take a toll on me quickly, both physically and mentally. I’m so glad summer is on it’s way. This would be a great boost/ kick in the butt to achieving all around wellness.
I made a big move last fall in terms of career/direction, which also meant a big location move from the midwest to the northeast (so I’m just a train ride away from NYC!)…and I am still carrying some baggage with me from my life before that I would love to get rid of: unhealthy eating habits and body perspective. It would be sweet to have a personal tour of your city, Alex.
Hi Alex!
I’m 29 years old and currently live in Amsterdam. I did research in Sri Lanka for a year and found it really difficult to find alternatives to processed foods, caffeine, and the worst, sugar:) We met briefly last October before my move, and I read your books and found them so helpful! I was able to make some really positive changes in my life like finding some organic markets here in Amsterdam, incorporating more fresh veggies, and eating less meat. But I still struggle to find good and sustainable alternatives to baked goods/sweets, alcohol, and processed foods. Most importantly, I find it really hard to commit to detoxing my mind and body, while maintaining my social life and relationships.
I’m moving back to NYC for school and work in August and would love to reconnect with the city through your guidance, motivation, and company. The day’s events sound like the perfect jump start to my plan to turn my life around. I’m really looking forward to committing to making long-lasting changes that will elevate my mood and benefit my body!
I live just outside the city. I’d like to win because I’ve had Chronic Fatigue Syndrome for over 14 years (since I was 13) and I’ve learned that the healthier I can be the better I feel. I also could never afford Alex’s services normally due to my condition affecting my ability to work.
would LOVE to win because…
1. i’ve been trying to make my own health/diet/fitness regimen for years and can never get it right
2. i’m approaching middle age and feel like this is my last chance to get healthy before my last gasp of youth slips away
3. i would love to meet alex because she’s my health hero
4. i love nyc
5. i’m fun to hang out with
Hi Alex-
I would love to spend this day to become more of my best “me”. I am a new mom of twins and they have made me realize my mortality and that the commitment to my health is the best gift I can give to them…both because I can continue to be here on the Earth for them, as well as to pass along and embody the healthy lifestyle I’d like for them to choose. Thank you for doing what you do. Our world needs this shift in consciousness…..:) KC
I want Fabulous Health in NYC!!! I am a single 35 year old woman living in the NYC area. I was raised on healthy food but lead a busy life and always tend to reach for fast food before healthy food. I would love to win this day with Alex to learn how to eat the best way possible. I also run long distances, 1/2 marathons and marathons and would love to learn how to eat in a way to make me stronger and more powerful in all aspects of my life.
My entire family lives in the NYC area so going there would be no hardship, that’s for sure! I would love to spend a day with you, Alex… I’m sure I could learn a lot.
What a great opportunity I would so very much love to get. I’m a new mom with disordered eating trying to get myself and my new family on a healthy vegan path. This would be a dream come true!
I think this would be a wonderful opportunity for me. I have been a vegetarian my whole life but have battled eating disorders and now IBS and basically survive on laxatives. Learning how to eat properly and cleanse my system so I will not be dependant on laxatives would change my life. This experience would change my life.
Besides really wanting to meeting you, I really need your advice and help. I will be 61 on thursday and cannot lose weight, feel tired all the time and really don’t know much about exercising! I am begining not to eat meat or dairy and my vegan cooking needs help. The worst part is, I am an allied health instructor and always show any new class your documentry about 30days as well as Supersize me. I hope you choose me so I can get healthy soon. Thank you from a Jersey Girl, Sharon
I don’t live in NY but I would figure out a way if I won this. I am a vegan stay at home mom that has been trying to feed myself in a healthy, holistic way and could use some help!
I would be so so so psyched to win! I need a little pampering and guidance on better cleaner living. I am a new vegetarian (former carnivore) from a family of vegans.
To win this would be a dream come true
I am a mom of 3, ages 1, 8 11; my family and I vegetarian, the kids are lifetime veggies.
I’m reading the vegan diet for dummies book right now and would love my family and I to make the switch to a vegan diet and lifestyle.
I’m going thru a divorce right now after 12 years of marriage and i believe something this amazing would be a jumpstart to a new life, a new perspective, a new outlook, a healthy new me! Either way, I am a huge fan of what you do! thank you!
Winning this contest would be an amazing once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience NYC in a unique way during my first trip ever there in July! My husband and I are going to NYC for our delayed honeymoon (we got married in November 2003 and had to delay honeymoon plans because of finances). I would love the opportunity to add on a healthy experience guided by a knowledgeable professional who practices what she teaches while I’m there!
What an amazing opportunity! Spending quality time with you would help enhance my physical, emotional and nutritional well-being!! This could be life altering for me as well as my family. I have 2 little girls at home: a 2 year old and a 4 year old. I would love to be able to show them what a happy, healthy mom can look like.
I would so love this opportunity!!
I would love to be chosen to pass the prize along to my 23 year old daughter who will be attending graduate school in NYC. She’s mostly vegetarian, did gymnastics when younger, and recently took a few yoga classes. In the last year she’s travelled abroad and has worked with children with developmental disabilities, and will be entering this field as a child psychologist. I believe she would learn so much from you to help herself stay grounded during the stress of graduate school, and could also spread word to her clients and their families, as I know you know about the connection between food and mood and health in general.
All that you have to offer would be an amazing opportunity for her, setting her on a path to lifelong wellness.
I could really use this wonderful trip and spa treatment. I have friends in NY. This could really be a stress reliever for me since I have recently my mom has passed away. I surely hope I do win!!!
I’d love to be entered into this contest – it sounds like a great opportunity. Thanks!
What an amazing opportunity! I love the work that you do and would absolutely love to spend the day with you and get more focused on my health and personal goals. I just celebrated my 35th birthday and feel that this would be an awesome way to continue my celebration of growth and transformation.
Hi Alex:
I am a mom of a four year old and two year old. They keep me very busy and I want to stay healthy for myself & my kids. My mom passed away from breast cancer 5 years ago and my dad survived colon cancer. I would love tips and advice to keep myself healthy from such a expert chef and nutritionist.
I’d love to go to NYC!
I am a tired mother of two young kids and work full time. I am trying so hard to live within my means but focus on eating raw organic foods to regain my energy and health. I have not lost the much needed baby weight not given myself anytime to focus on me. My family and I cook often from the Great American Detox Diet book and have followed Alex for years. Due to budget limitations, I have never been able to participate in any of Alex’s amazing opportunities but would love too. I am living the minimum wage reality that Alex lived in 30 days with her husband. hard to catch up and be well on such a limited budget. I love though the inspiration Alex offers and would love to meet her in person. Thank you!
I would love to hang with Alex in person! I was a Detox Diva and am a whole different person now. Change your food, change your life.:)
It was a godsend working with Alex while I was pregnant and for a few months after. I learned valuable information that after being a vegetarian for 20 years I did not know. I am a huge fan!
Hi Alex!
I just found out about your website, and signed up for your newsletter. I would be beyond elated to win this contest because I just got married and have started a home and family with the love of my life. I feel so fortunate to be where I am and I want to make my life and home as healthy and beautiful as possible. I want to ensure that I take care of my husband and myself as best as possible and that starts with cooking healthy and taking care of each other physically, emotionally, etc. I’m a vegetarian now and aspiring to be vegan. I don’t make any meat for my husband but would love to learn how to cook nutritious and delicious vegan dishes for him to convert him from his carnivorous ways. I’ve entered this next stage in my life and want to make sure that it’s as nutritious and healthy as possible and to pass the things I learn on to my future children and family. Please, please pick me
Thank you!
My mission these last several weeks has been stepping into fully accepting myself and allowing my authentic light to shine each day without holding it back. I’ve been thinking about this as. . . having the courage to thrive! I’m in the process of releasing the energy in my life that’s not working in order to create space for what will support me as I burst forward. I’m completely open and inviting any and all opportunities for this to happen. I would be totally jazzed to spend a day in NYC nourishing myself and learning from you, Alex!
I’ve been vegan for 21 years, and running for almost as long. But I want to try to slow down a little. My goals: cutting out coffee, sugar, and adding yoga. I’m going to be relocating from NYC to Vermont in a few months, and this would be a great inspiration for me as I embark on my new adventures outside of the City.
hey alex, i would love to have an opportunity like this! i enjoyed talking with you and learning so much from our 4 week detox class. anytime i can get to nyc i am soooo happy. like a tourism commercial from awhile ago, ” I LOVE NEW YORK, what a great vacation!” actually meeting you would be the icing on the “vegan” cake! pick me please!!!!! amy:)
I’ve NEVER been to NYC and have always wanted to visit. I also have vacation time ahead with nothing planned – the plight of a single girl with married friends!! I keep coming back to the feeling/my intuition that I’m a vegan at heart but am still not the best at truly listening to my body. Meeting you, Alex, would be such an inspiration for me!!
What an amazing contest! I would LOVE to win!!!!
i just need some help. i know a lot about what it takes but i don’t know how to implement what i read, learn and observe. i do some things right but with my vegetarian boyfriend, i’ve got incentive to be on par with his lifestyle. i deserve a healthier lifestyle. i just need coaching, a mentor. i also live in nyc and could just use some 1-on-1 time to shadow her and get more on track as i am already on a serious journey of transformation after my father’s sudden death traumatized me and shook me to the core. i really need a customized plan on health so i can get back on track and solidify my life i’m carving out for myself in NYC. plus i turned 40 a few months ago so truly i am a crossroads. mother nature watch out! :O)
Hi Alex, I have converted my whole life since following your Great American Detox Diet. I have read with excitement all the different vegan and healthy opportunities you have in NYC. Here in Australia it can be difficult to find such treats in the major cities. I would love the opportunity to be pampered but also to learn more about how you explore your city. I am visiting NY in July should I happen to win. Regardless, keep all your hard work coming – I find it all fascinating and quite contagious.
I am a physician in a pediatric intensive care unit with a very stressful job, a five month old baby who still wakes up every 3 hours a night to nurse, trying to exclusively breastfeeding plus maintain this crazy schedule at work! Oh and my husband is a surgeon who cannot help much at night because he needs his sleep to operate the next day! So it has been 5 months since I slept more than 3 hours straight, and when I am on call at night I sometimes get no sleep for 36 hours and am eating junk from a cefeteria. We have no family around… I try my best to cook healthy dinners, but I think I need a reboot! Meeting with Alex and experiencing a healthy day in NYC could be a godsend.
Funny, yesterday on the phone I told my Mom, “All I need is a little TLC. A little hand holding. Some time away.” Alex, I am way too stressed. I have developed an ulcer and my once clear skin is dotted with acne rosacea. I am open to some new, healing energy. I believe I have the power to heal,I am just stuck. I would love to meet you Alex and get unstuck, eat well, cleanse, and have fun too. Besides New Jersey is just a train ride away!
hey alex, i would love the opportunity to meet you in person. it was great learning from you on the 4 week detox program! i come to nyc as much as i can, cause even though i live elsewhere you can’t take the nyc out of the girl! be well, amy: )
would LOVE to win because…
1. i’ve been trying to make my own health/diet/fitness regimen for years and can never get it right
2. i’m approaching middle age and feel like this is my last chance to get healthy before my last gasp of youth slips away
3. i would love to meet alex because she’s my health hero
4. i love nyc
5. i’m fun to hang out with
There once was a lass, forty-three,
who has struggled indefinitely
with dairy and wheat
(though she doesn’t eat meat)
and she drinks diet coke, not green tea.
A day in New York? What a treat!
And meeting Alex? Can’t be beat.
I’m in need of some help
(and I’m open to kelp!)
and I promise I’ll be really sweet.
OMG how bad do I want to win this?!?!
PS- Can’t believe I’m only NOW signing up for your blog – how awesome! Can’t wait to continue following along.
I work a full-time job and am in two bands – I need a break!!! Plus, this is an AMAZING opportunity to learn from the one and only Alex!
I just love & respect you. I think it would be awesome to hang out to talk about health & nutrition. I am a student at Clayton College of Natural Health & I can only aspire to have the same positive influence you’ve had on so many people.
-Alyssa
I would LOVE to come to NYC and spend the day with you!
Leaving a comment…love your blog and newsletters…would love to win…really hoping you choose a winner at random and not based on the creativity of her comment!
I want to enter because I want to hang out! I want to pick your brain! I’ve had IBS problems for five years now, and it’s been so difficult trying to nail down a lifestyle that works for me. It would be insanely amazing and life-changing to get to talk with you about it. If I could afford to hire you, I would! (I can’t even afford a doctor).
Aside from IBS, I’m also a fan, an ex-drinker, druggie and junk food addict, who did a 180 because of your book. It would be nice to say thank you in person.
I have been vegan for about a year now and I would love to expand my knowledge on health and well-being. My passion is learning about the vegan lifestyle and improving my health, but my main goal is to eventually help others make healthy lifestyle changes.
Another passion of mine is making art work based on the damage that the SAD is responsible for. I am a Florida State Studio Art major and am really enthusiastic about the same issues that The Great American Detox Diet focuses on.
This opportunity sounds like such a wonderful and enlightening experience. I believe that so much knowledge and inspiration would come from this day. I live in Florida but am planning on touring the Natural Gourmet Institute in New York this summer. What an exciting opportunity!
Love your book, and would love to be able to just chat and “pick your brain”. I’ve done a real turnaround this year, dropping pounds, eating SO much better, and working out 4+ times per week. I’d love to keep up that momentum and get even better!
This is like a dream come through…This last year was one off my worst yet. I lost my job, had to get used to the idea after always working and staying at home and afloat with 3 kids and one salary. I am 47 and my youngets is a 2 year old baby…I was sick most off the winter and have akes all along my spine. I can’t shake off the extra poundage from my last baby and am still trying to figure out a way to eat and live healthy. But life goes on and I am always busy and positive. If I could have afforded it I would have been getting mentored by you for sure…
Meeting you would be deffinitly a great life changing event that is extremely needed and eventhough I am only an hour drive from NYC I haven’t visited for the longest time. I can use some empowerment
I have never been to NY and would love to see what all the buzz is about. But best of all would be to learn how I can turn my health issues around…and have a relaxing spa day too! Thanks for this opportunity.
I want to enter because it sounds amazing! I need coaching!
I would love to win this. I am looking to lose weight and get healthy, and have started using some of your tips in order to improve my life. I would love some helpful tips to jump start my life!
What a wonderful idea! Please do include me in your drawing. This would be an amazing help to me.
Thank you!
Mary Ann Stewart
It would be a wonderful way to learn more about veganism!
If I win, it would be a great excuse to visit my sister in NYC!
Sick and tired of being sick and tired? I am!!!!! I am not where I should be,but Thank God I am not where I used to be.My situation maybe a little different then from all the ones I have read. I quit smoking COLD TURKEY September 22,2002. I week before my thirty sixth birthday.I had my lightbulb moment. That I am important and that I do matter. However it is a daily struggle,I am 100 lbs over weight, and take two different types of hbp meds, crave SALT not choclate. I really do try .I now eat vegetable and take vitamins and minerals buy organic when ever possible.I think we all deserve to win !!!! Good luck to all that enter. What a blessing it will be! Be Well!
I’d like to win this opportunity because I’m stuck in a rut. I’ve been a pretty unhealthy vegan for 18 years because I can’t sift through all of the health advice out there. Yoga intrigues me but I’m scared to try it. I’m in a rut and I need a little boost
I would love the opportunity to hear your wisdom. Thanks Allison
Alex,
We met recently at the NYC location of the Natural Kitchen Cooking School. I enjoyed your afternoon discussion and our brief talk about Holistic Mom’s Network. That said, I am also a student of IIN and one of my sticking points is being authentic. I have been struggling with food sensitivities and weight for quite sometime and I am now becoming paralyzed by the inability to get things under control. I am a happily married mom of three children (9, 6 & 3 years old). My husband is an omnivoire who works crazy hours in an ER and I am a vegan starting a business and trying to raise responsible, grounded children. We have also recently decided to Cyber Home School next year and I am not sure how to pull it all off while not losing myself in the mix. I would love to learn what your strategies, hints, and tips are for blazing this new trail ahead without the weight and the frustration that I am experiencing. I would love to get back to yoga and center myself. I am willing to travel and look forward to the opportunity if I am picked. Thanks!!
I’ve let my standards slip for what it feels like to “feel good”. Please help me reclaim “me”.
I would love to have this opportunity! This would be the perfect way to jumpstart my healthy transition to the vegan lifestyle!
This sounds like an amazing opportunity!
Just want to express my enthusiasm for this contest! Alex, I’d love the day to spend with you to discuss our mutual desire to bring information about good health and nutrition to women.
I’m a college student in the Pioneer Valley and I’d love the opportunity to spend a day in New York City to enhance my vegan life!
This would be wonderful! I’m a busy, young professional who would LOVE to lose weight and kick my caffeine and sugar habit. I’m willing to travel from San Francisco!
FT student, FT job, volunteer…I am exhausted and could use a nice break!
Hi Alex,
I love what you do and would love to win this prize with you. What an amazing opportunity you are offering! Thank you!
I would love this package because I worked with Alex many years ago and she changed my life in so many ways. I also just returned from Korea where it was difficult for me to eat and I need some reminders and tips on eating healthfully.
We’re thinking of starting a family soon, and I could use some specially tailored pregger girl nutrition tips and an all-around tune-up with a plant-powered mommy pro!
I will be in NYC in a couple of weeks–my first visit ever. This would be a great way to spend a day.
Why wouldn’t I want to win this amazing prize!?! What a fantastic opportunity to work with Alex one-on-one and have an entire day devoted to fun and wellness!
I cannot pass up a chance to spend the day with Alex! What a great opportunity to start the summer healthier and happier!
I would love to win this trip! I just finished reading “The Great American Detox Diet” and I loved every word.
Hi – I’ve already commented and personally entered, but I hope you’ll take this one as an entry for my husband. He is about 70 pounds overweight and while it’s great for cuddling, I really do fear for his health long-term. He has a really hard time getting motivated, and when out of the house the healthiest thing he eats is a tuna fish salad sub and chips from Subway. I think a day with you would really make a difference, and hopefully make it easier to have a partner in crime to be healthy with!
Would love to win this incredible contest. I have my fingers crossed.
Thanks,
This package sounds like a fantastic opportunity for anyone! I would love to experience some pampering and nutritional guidance. I am a recently laid off teacher and am struggling to find some peace and happiness these days. I also aim to get back on track with my diet and run a full marathon in the next year or so.
Hi Alex,
I first saw u with your now husband, Morgan, on supersize me. His transformation after doing such harm to himself from your diet was inspiring. I immediately ran out and gopt your book. I tried it and felt a lot better but over the years have fallen off the wagon and need some one on one assistance. I am asthmatic and have a few skin problems. Additionally I’m a social worker for children and adults with mental health issues and am always stressed out. My busy and long days make it difficult to keep to a regimen. Please pick me so that I might improve my health and bring my new knowledge back to my family. Thanks, Brenna
Hello!
I just heard about the contest today and thought, “Wow, a day to invest with a professional on better healthy living! This is ideal!” I truly do feel that this is a day where I can learn even more about how to help others. Thank You Alexandra for having this contest and sharing your knowledge with us.
Have a wonderful day!
I would love to win this amazing package. A day of relaxation, health and wellness. This would cleanes my soul, mind and body to relieve the stress I have been going thrugh at home.
Alex, I don’t envy you the decision of who to bring to NYC for this amazing opportunity. I think in their own way, each person on this feed deserves it. I can’t tell you why to choose me, but I can say why I would want to go. I have been gluten free now for 5 years. Forced into the lifestyle by years of digestive hell and a very onerous diagnosis, I have approached food with nothing short of trepidation and fear ever since. The answer of Celiac Disease came with a laundry list of what not to eat. But as for what TO eat, what would balance my system and restore the health that slowly ebbed from my body for eight years prior, that was missing. To me food remains a mystery that I need to solve so that I can finally, 13 years later begin to feel at home in this body. Thanks for giving me the chance to share this and enter your contest!
I am not asking for myself. I am asking for a kind hearted friend that is very gracious, giving, honest and a person with a wonderful soul. She has been without work for over a year and someone in her family recently passed away. Through out it all she remains positive. But, out of anyone I know she deserves a day of pampering, and some healthy ideas to keep her chin up through it all. Even though she appears to be taking things in stride-I know life is hard for her right now.
When I was without work this past year
(thankfully working again) and having a hard time-she scraped together enough money to take me out to eat, and gave me a special day of encouragement and inspiration. I would like to do something nice for her in return. This seems ideal. I prefer to not post her name here. But, if you respond to me I will give you her information.
Thanks for reading.
I would love this.
I subscribe.
